1. GENERAL AGREEMENT
By placing an order with The Northern Wood Atelier Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") and paying the required deposit, the Client ("you") agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. These terms constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersede all prior agreements or understandings.
2. CUSTOM ORDER POLICY
All furniture produced by The Northern Wood Atelier Inc. is custom-made and handcrafted to order.
No Changes: Once the deposit has been paid, no changes to the design, dimensions, or specifications will be accepted.
Finality: The Client acknowledges that they have reviewed their invoice and specifications thoroughly before paying the deposit.
3. PRICING AND PAYMENT TERMS
Deposit Requirement: Production will only begin upon receipt of a deductible but non-refundable deposit via our provided payment link. The required deposit structure is as follows:
Orders PHP 50,000 and below: PHP 5,000 deposit.
Orders PHP 50,001 to PHP 100,000: PHP 10,000 deposit.
Orders above PHP 100,001: 10% of the total order value.
Balance Payment: The remaining balance is due immediately upon delivery. We accept Cash, QRPH, Visa/Mastercard, or Online Bank Transfer.
Failure to Pay: If the Client fails to settle the remaining balance upon delivery, The Northern Wood Atelier Inc. reserves the right to cancel the order immediately and retrieve/clawback the delivered items. The deposit will be forfeited in favour of The Northern Wood Atelier Inc.
4. CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Client Cancellation: The Client may cancel their order at any time. However, all deposits are strictly non-refundable. This applies regardless of the reason for cancellation, including "change of mind."
No Returns/Exchange: Due to the custom nature of our products, we strictly implement a No Return, No Exchange policy, except in cases of proven structural manufacturing defects covered under warranty (see Section 7).
5. WOOD CHARACTERISTICS & NATURAL VARIATIONS
Natural Imperfections: Wood is a natural material. The Client acknowledges that grain variations, knots, colour differences, and mineral streaks are natural features of solid wood and are not considered defects. The Northern Wood Atelier Inc. does not guarantee that the final product will look exactly like a photo or sample.
Wood Movement: Solid wood expands and contracts with changes in humidity and temperature. Minor hairline cracks or movement over time are natural occurrences and are not covered under warranty.
6. PRODUCTION LEAD TIME
Estimates Only: The standard production time is approximately 4–6 weeks. This is an estimate only and not a guarantee.
Force Majeure: The Northern Wood Atelier Inc. shall not be liable for delays caused by events beyond our control, including but not limited to typhoons, natural disasters, material shortages, or government restrictions ("Force Majeure").
No Liability for Delay: We strive to deliver within the estimated timeframe, but we shall not be held liable for any damages or inconvenience caused if the product is delivered after the estimated date.
7. DELIVERY AND ACCESS
Notification: We will inform the Client of the expected delivery date at least 12 - 24 hours in advance.
Client Responsibility: The Client is solely responsible for ensuring the furniture will fit through all entryways, elevators, stairwells, and doors. The Client must secure all necessary gate passes or work permits required by their village or building administration prior to delivery.
Failed Delivery & Redelivery Fee: If delivery cannot be completed because:
The Client or a representative is not present;
The item does not fit through the entrance;
or Permits were not secured;
The item will be returned to our workshop, and a Redelivery Fee of PHP 3,000 will be charged for the next attempt.
Installation: Basic assembly and installation are included in the price unless otherwise stated.
8. ABANDONED ITEMS
If a Client refuses to accept delivery or fails to pay the balance on the scheduled delivery date, The Northern Wood Atelier Inc. reserves the right to sell the item to a third party to recover production and storage costs. In such cases, the Client’s deposit is forfeited.
9. WARRANTY
Coverage: We offer a 12-Month Warranty against structural manufacturing defects caused by manufacturing workmanship.
Exclusions: This warranty does not cover:
Normal wear and tear;
Damage caused by improper care;
Sharp objects;
Blunt force;
Damage from environmental factors (sun exposure, water rings, extreme humidity, fire);
Improper use (e.g., using indoor furniture outdoors);
Natural wood movement or grain variations.
Repairs: Structural defects found within the warranty period will be repaired free of charge. Any damages falling outside the warranty scope or period can be repaired by The Northern Wood Atelier Inc. for a fee determined by the company.
10. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.
